cOVID-19 Protocols for 2021
At Skydive Toronto, we take our responsibility to our community very seriously. As such, we have instituted guidelines for how to do our part to keep our community safe and prevent the further spread of COVID-19, while still enjoying this thrill of a lifetime.
A Stay-At-Home Order for all of Ontario was announced on April 7, 2021, and is currently in force. Based on this new information, the start date for our season has been moved to June 4th, 2021.
We are asking any customers or team members to determine whether they live and/or work in a COVID-19 hotspot and, if so, book for a later date so that we can do our part to prevent potential spread.
TEMPERATURE CHECK AND CONTACT TRACING FORMS
On arrival, everyone entering the dropzone is required to have a temperature check and fill out our COVID-19 symptom screening form, including spectators. Please stay home if you are feeling ill.
Due to social distancing requirements, the only people allowed in the hangar are those that will be skydiving. We ask that you limit the number of people accompanying you to watch your skydive to one person at this time. Those that are coming to watch are welcome to enjoy the beautiful weather outside in the spectator area while you finish your registration. We have lots of picnic tables set up, and you will be able to see all of the skydiving happening throughout your visit! Please remain with your household group while at the picnic tables to allow for social distancing. Dressing appropriately for the weather is very important.
Masks are mandatory for everyone on-site. This includes inside the hangar, outside in the spectator area, in the plane, and during the skydive. Buffs do not provide enough protection alone and must be worn with a mask underneath.
While we do understand that legitimate medical exclusions to wearing masks do exist, we are unable to accommodate them. Please reschedule your skydive for a date in the future when masks are not mandatory.
There is a COVID-19 surcharge that all tandem and solo students are required to pay when completing the registration process. The cost is $20 and includes a reusable skydiving buff. It is required that you wear a mask at all times when at our facility. The buff is worn over the mask, during freefall, to ensure that mask stays on. If not, the mask will blow right off and create a spectacular photo fail.
We will show you a safety video on a tablet. Please ensure that you bring a pair of wired, standard auxiliary headphones to fit into a standard connection.
Normally, we would provide jumpsuits to every customer, but as we cannot keep them sanitized between each customer, we are asking you to wear relatively close-fitted athletic clothing and running shoes. You might want to bring an extra pair of clothing in case you get grass stains during your skydive.
FOOD SERVICES CLOSED
Our canteen will not be open this season. Please bring your own snacks and water for your time at the dropzone.
SANITATION OF ALL EQUIPMENT
In addition to more in-depth cleaning at the end of each day, we will be safely sanitizing all equipment and areas throughout the day and in between customers.
Thank you for supporting us in implementing these measures.
